Description: Radar Altimeter AYF-2 is an airborne FM radio altimeter providing direct indication of altitude relative to the underlaying terrain when flying within the range 0 tp 4000 feet (APN-1) or 0 to 400 feet (ARN-1). In conjunction with a suitable automatic pilot the equipments may be used to control the altitude of flight in multiples of 25 feet (APN-1 & ARN-1) or 250 feet (APN-1) between the limits 50 and 300 feet (ARN-1) or 50 and 3000 feet (APN-1). Altitude is indicated on a meter. This is the navy version of AN/APN-1A.
